Every summer, in my hometown, I do something that seems to be a lost art form. I fly my kites. I have a collection of different kites from around the world, and I spend the warm months waiting for some breezes off the mountains and fly the kites for hours and hours on end. Even though the warmer months don’t always bring forth a great breeze, I’ve managed to enjoy many months of fun outside.
Flying kites isn’t exactly the most prominent of hobbies out there, but it’s something that I’ve been obsessed with since I was a little kid. I love being outside on warm summer days with subtle breezes, and my kites take flight in a fashion that keeps me feeling young.
I don’t just fly kites, I also watch my favorite NBA teams fighting it out in the playoffs and Major League baseball action on tv with my choice extra channel lineup. Flying kites is one of the most wonderful experiences that people of all ages and backgrounds can enjoy. The cheapest kites are only a few dollars, and are usually made of plastic, and can provide children and adults with several hours of fun. However, more complex kites are out there and can cost quite a bit, but still provide exhilarating options to have fun in the sun.
Sure, you could go in the pool, play ball, or something else, but I can’t resist the draw of a warm summer breeze and the opportunity to fly a kite in clear blue skies.
